Who am I?
Brazilian field and museum ornithologist and evolutionary biologist in love with Amazonian birds! I got my Batchelor's degree and a Master's degree at University of São Paulo (my home town). In 2015 I moved to the US, where I got a PhD in Systematics, Ecology and Evolution from Louisiana State University. From 2022 to 2024 I was an Edward Rose Postdoctoral Fellow at the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology, and a visiting scholar at the Harvard Medical School. I am currently the curator of Ornithology at the Florida Museum of Natural History and an Assistant Professor at University of Florida.
Research interests
My interests and expertise go from speciation, genomics, molecular and cell biology, population genetics, and systematics to spatial ecology and conservation. As long as I work with birds, I am happy!
